Adidas Clima Cool Ballerina Golf Shoes

Adidas Ballerina

All Day I Dream About Shoes

Boots, wedges, heels, stilettos, flats, sandals, tennis shoes, fancy shoes and yes don’t forget golf shoes, we dream of them all. It isn’t new news that one of the paths to a girl’s heart is through shoes. We all own more than we need, yet struggle to pick which ones to wear each morning. We will never stop buying them, NEVER! Sometimes we buy them just for the look, actually more than we’re willing to admit we buy them just for looks. Other times we buy them for comfort and sometimes for functionality.

Adidas Ballerina

No matter the occasion, no matter the purpose we enjoy our shoes. What is not so much fun is the hunt for the perfect shoe. I have come to the conclusion that it’s not shopping that I enjoy – it’s the thrill of finding something that fits or that I love. Shopping isn’t what brings me joy; it is the purchasing that feels so good. The thought of “Oh I can’t wait to wear this I am going to look and feel so good”! Recently I was able to feel that because of the brand new clima-cool ballerina golf shoes that Adidas just released.

Adidas Ballerina

I am in love! I have struggled for years trying to find a golf shoe I liked. When looking for a golf shoe you know you need to find a shoe that is for functionality and comfort. Most times they are clunky, wide, heavy and not attractive. The clima-cool ballerinas are amazing; it truly feels like you’re golfing barefoot. I guess that makes sense considering they only weigh 4.8oz. When I first put them on at home the day I received them, I joked that they felt like a house slipper. They molded to my foot and I actually didn’t take them off for the rest of the day as I ran errands and went to my son’s soccer practice. These shoes do not look bulky like a golf shoe traditionally does so you can definitely get away with wearing them on and off the course.

Adidas Ballerina

As I approached the tee box on hole 1 I found myself being a little nervous about the shoe. I had already fallen in love and god forbid they don’t perform on the course. My fears were they wouldn’t be supportive enough, my heel may slip out the back during my finish and that sand would get in them . . . that is only if I go in the sand though, which I don’t, yea right. Turns out, Adidas knew what they were doing when they designed this shoe. The mesh they used to create part of the body is permeable enough to allow your foot to breathe yet still fine enough to not let sand through. The opening of the shoe molds around your ankle also blocking sand or dirt from up top. The fabric they used does not cut off circulation; I was worried it would be too tight and bug me after an hour or be too loose and my heel would slip out, neither happened. The shoes honestly mold to your feet, and this is probably why Adidas offers a 90 day comfort warranty! That blew my mind when I read that, you won’t find that with your Jimmy Choo’s.

Adidas Ballerina

This shoe does not have spikes and I’m starting to think those are soon to be something of the past. I am seeing less and less golf shoes that have the traditional spikes. These ballerina shoes have a thin moldable sole with a consistent grip design that is created of small rubber nodules. They also have a foam insert with arch support (kind of reminds me of memory foam). I just can’t say it enough, these shoes are amazingly comfortable and I will own multiple pairs. They are functional, comfortable and good looking.

Adidas Ballerina

Currently you can find them online, where they are retailing for around $99. They come in solar blue & silver, silver & bahia mint, and mid grey & tribe purple. I would love for them to make a black or charcoal grey shoe with red accents and a white & pink combination. My thought is these shoes are going to fly off the shelves this season, so I would get them early. I hope to have one in each color . . . it will be hard to slip into another shoe after experiencing the comfort of the Adidas ballerina.

Adidas Ballerina

Here’s a little history for you. People for years have believed that Adidas stands for All Day I Dream About Sports, some believe the S stand for soccer and those of a juvenile mind firmly state the S stands for sex. In truth it stands for none of those things. Adolf (Adi) Dassler started the company in 1949 and he decided to name his company by using the first three letters of his first name and the first three letters of his last name, creating Adi-Das. That being said I will never say AdiDas again without sounding like I have an accent. However, my prediction is if they continue to produce such killer shoes then then they will soon be known for the acronym All Day I Dream About Shoes!  The funny thing about acronyms is they are often untrue, just like the word Golf: ‘gentlemen only ladies forbidden’ is not its true meaning even though many still claim it to be. The word golf started as a medieval Dutch word “kolf” or “kolve” which meant “club”. It wasn’t until the 16th century that it transcended into golf.

Adidas Ballerina

Throughout my life asking why and why not has served to be a blessing on some occasions and a curse on others. I like to understand things, I am never afraid to admit I do not know something and I also am not afraid to blaze a new path if I don’t like the options before me. At one time I did believe that golf stood for gentleman only ladies forbidden. In a feisty I’m going to do what I want state of mind I create a league called SWING. This actually is an acronym and stands for Savvy Women In Need of Golf.

Adidas Ballerina

We are a non-competitive cocktail league for women and we thrive on growing the game one happy hour at a time. We love to bring fashion on the course so believe me when I say “this shoe is going to kill it”, because if anyone knows what’s going to look good on the course it is my league. So whether you golf or SWING, or believe the S in Adidas stands for sports, soccer, sex or shoes, it really doesn’t matter as long as you’re swingin’ a club somehow somewhere. Those who dress well, play well, let’s keep the game alive and look good while we’re doing

Molhimawk Golf Bag Review

Molhimawk argyle bag

Ping to Prada

A lady with a nice handbag, killer shoes and freshly done hair & nails defines class. I have not quite figured out why we gravitate to accessories like we do but it’s a worldly commonality among women.  It’s a shame the golf bag industry is so stale when it comes to keeping up with the trends, because if they knew anything about women they’d know we would have to own at least four. Or so I thought . . .

Ashworth Cardiff ADC

Ashworth Cardiff ADC

I have to admit that when the size 8 Ashworth Cardiff ADC arrived on my doorstep, I was a little concerned. I’m 43 now and the older I get, the bigger my feet seem to get and the pickier I get about shoes and the comfort of my feet. While the length of my foot has stayed basically the same over the years, across my toes seem to continue to spread wider and wider. Hence, I have started to by larger shoes because standard sizing in shoes across the toe box have been consistently getting more narrow.

Ashworth Cardiff ADC

I avoided putting on these size 8s for a couple of weeks. The overwhelming dread of squeezing my feet into another pair of shoes where my toes were squished together was creeping ever so closer. Finally, with beautiful sunny skies and no rain in sight, I pulled out my navy and white Ashworth Cardiffs and decided to suck it up and give them a whirl.

Ashworth Cardiff

All I can say is WOW! Could it be true? Is there really a pair of golf shoes out there that are the right size in width and length that are also comfortable, practical, and perform? Here is your answer…YES!

 Ashworth Cardiff ADC

Not only do these shoes perform on the golf course and they might be the most comfortable golf shoes I have ever had, but Ashworth stands behind them with a two year waterproof warranty. And believe me, with the soggy summer and fall we have had in Atlanta, waterproof is essential. No leaks here trust me, I have walked these shoes through every inch of my waterlogged course. This new Cardiff is both functional and flexible with a spikeless outsole that delivers both stability and traction under any conditions.

Ashworth Cardiff ADC

And you give up nothing in style for such a high performing shoe. The Cardiff ADC has the look of a classic, traditional spiked shoe with all the modern performance enhancements. I’ve always loved the look of the classic golf shoe, but have usually found that shoes with the traditional look, usually lack in comfort. This is not the case with this Ashworth shoe.

Ashworth Cardiff ADC

It is a beautiful shoe with a premium leather upper, advanced comfort last and super-soft polyurethane sockliner on a poured PU midsole. The women’s leather Cardiff ADC is available in four colorways with a MSRP of $120.

Ashworth Cardiff ADC

Ashworth makes a very similar Cardiff ADC for the men as well. You can see the whole line on the Ashworth website.

Fairway Fox: Country Club Luxury

Fairway Fox Logo

Without googling every golf apparel headquarters, I am pretty sure there are very few that are located in the heart of New York City. While New Yorkers are not know for their love of the game, there is no doubt that fashion is center stage in the Big Apple.

Fairway Fox Eve Pants
My introduction to Manhattan based, Fairway Fox, came last year we reviewed Kristen Dress and Kate Skort. The Kate Skort is not only perfect for a casual round but also any outdoor event where you want to look “sporty sharp”. So when I was asked to review the new line from Fairway Fox I jumped at the chance. For me, this brand of clothing can be your go-to fashion even if you aren’t on the course because at the center of the brand is a wonderful combination of high end fabrics and exceptional tailoring that can be worn both on and off the course.

Fairway Fox Polo
Let me start off by saying that I am a skort/skirt girl, especially when I play golf. The reason for this is simple: women’s pants tend to have a lot of spandex or some sort of stretchy material woven in to the fabric. What starts off as a great fitting pair of pants ends up as a sagging, stretched out hassle by the 18th green. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that Fairway Fox makes a GREAT fitting pair of trousers will that will not have you hiking up your pants every shot you take on the course!

Fairway Fox Eve Pants
So perfect are the Fairway Fox’s Eve pants that they not only meet my golf needs, but are equally suitable for other situations as well. When can you wear well-fitting designer pants in a neutral color? . . . ah just about anytime you want to look good. So while I have worn these pants on the course, I have also worn them with a wedge heel to go out. Go to your closet and count how many pieces of clothing you can find that you would even consider being that multi-functional. I would imagine very few. What makes these pants so great is not only the fabulous tailoring, but the attention to detail. The two front pockets are deep and the back pockets have cute gold buttons that dress up the pants and also snap very easily. It is this kind of regard to detail that makes these pants so versatile.

Fairway Fox Eve Pants
I wore the Eve pants with Fairway Fox’s Cameron Polo in white. (This top is slim fitting, so if you like a roomier shirt I would order a size up.) It has cap sleeves and a two button neckline. Fairway Fox’s embroidered logo is on the center of the back below the collar – subtle and cute at the same time. This top also looks great with the Kate Skort (hint hint) and should be another staple in your wardrobe.

Fairway Fox Logo
Finally, it should not just be mentioned, but shouted from the rooftops, that every single piece of Fairway Fox clothing is made in the USA. (Go back to your closet again and check your labels. Yup, just what I thought.) Also, I can tell you personally that the Fairway Fox clothing I own is extremely easy to take care of.  Just throw it in the wash with your other clothes. Done. Did I mention it is all made in the USA?? Golf attire really doesn’t get much better than Fairway Fox.

You can check out all of the apparel on the Fairway Fox website.

Cleveland Bloom – Women’s Starter Clubs

Cleveland Bloom

This spring I received a set of Cleveland Bloom Go! golf clubs for women. The “Go!” simply means that it is a beginner set consisting of a 3 wood, hybrid, 7 iron, 9 iron, 56 wedge and putter. The set came complete with a small lightweight bag and headcovers, perfect for a beginner that likes to walk the course. And yes, they aren’t exactly maxing out the 14 club limit . . . the idea being that a beginner just needs the basic sticks to get things rolling and then she can get more complex from there, which I believe to be a sound approach. Doesn’t hurt that you save a few bucks to boot – no need to drop a cool G on a set of clubs when you’re not even sure you’ll be hooked on the game (although if you don’t end up hooked, there’s clearly something wrong with you).

Royal and Awesome Women

Royal and Awesome

Royal and Awesome – For the pars and the bars! What is NOT to like about this company?? They had me at their tagline….

Royal and Awesome is one of Scotland’s newest and brightest golf clothing brand. The company was launched last April and is making great strides in both the UK and North America. The clothing is not for the faint of heart – it is bright, bold, and definitely a fashion statement! We gals here at Three Guys Golf love everything about Royal and Awesome.

Royal and Awesome

I recently wore the Women’s Old Tom’s Shorts with the blue Awesome shirt. The shorts are 97% cotton and 3% spandex and they fit great. The length is perfect and they were very comfortable on an extremely hot Georgia day. The attention to detail on these shorts need not be overlooked – all Royal and Awesome pants/shorts have tee holders above the right pocket. Big deal you say? Did I mention that all pants/shorts also come with a multi-purpose tool? Yes, thats right. Not only can you repair your divot and mark your ball, you can also open your beer with this cute multitasking gizmo. Again ladies, for the pars AND the bars.

Royal and Awesome

To complete my Royal and Awesome ensemble, I also wore the Awesome white belt. This is a one size fits all deal so there is no second guessing on your order. I just cut the belt to fit my waist and off I went. (Even a man could do it – it’s just that simple.) This belt will go with many of my golf outfits, and it will definitely ramp up the awesomeness of whatever I wear.

Royal and Awesome Belt

My golf partner Susan also likes to look Royal and Awesome when she is out for the pars (or the bars for that matter). Susan wore what might be the BEST looking pair of women’s golf pants that I have ever seen. Jealous much? No, because I went out and ordered the same pants, so I’m good. Anywho, the Women’s Pink Ticket pants are honestly so awesome that you could wear these when you are not on the course.

Royal and Awesome

What Susan absolutely loved about them was the stride. She swore that these Awesome pink pants have the perfect fit in that they are not too long or short in the mid section and that the waist and seat of the pants didn’t stretch while she played. Her Pink Ticket pants also have the tee holders and came with the beer opener, I mean golf tool. Susan paired her new favorite pair of pants with the Royal and Awesome white shirt and she looked annoyingly awesome.

Royal and Awesome

As far as pricing goes, we found that Royal and Awesome is very fair. The Pink Ticket pants are $85 and the Old Tom’s shorts are $65 and included free delivery. Both washed well, as did the shirts. The quality is good and the awesomeness is better!

Nike Lunar Duet

White Nike Lunar Duet

Nike Lunar Duet Review: Growing up in a small town and before the internet, it often took a while before I ever got a first hand look at the newest fashion. Typically my first exposure to the hottest trends came when someone showed up at school wearing the latest “must haves”. To this day, I still remember the day my friend Donna walked into class with the now iconic canvas Nike. While there was disagreement on how to pronounce the name, we all wanted our own pair of the canvas kicks with a blue swoosh. I can’t explain my immediate infatuation with these new shoes, I can only say that after more than 30 years, I still have it.

Black Nike Lunar Duet

It is no surprise that the first pair of golf shoes I owned were Nike. They were red leather and still might be my favorite pair I’ve ever had. So, when Nike sent two pair of Lunar Duets my way, I was game. I received a black pair and Sue, a white pair. Now, if you’ve read any of our shoe reviews, you know we both have feet issues and tend to be picky about our shoes.

Nike Lunar Duet

Right out of the box, I loved them. They are street shoe stylish with sleek, clean lines and easily move between the course and the rest of your day. While some golfers still like the classic golf shoe look, the street shoe is quickly becoming a must have for those of us who like to squeeze in a few buckets of balls on the range during lunch or a quick 9 when we can eek out a couple of hours.

White Nike Lunar Duet

No worries serious golfers, you don’t have to give up the reliability and traction of your standard golf shoe when your wear the Nike Lunar Duet. We have had the wettest spring in Atlanta that I can remember, and our golf course has suffered with waves of flood waters. Fallen trees, mudslides and sinking fairways have been a standard this spring and the Lunar Duets passed all the tests.

Nike Lunar Duet

While the leather uppers are not waterproof, only water resistant, I had no problems at all with wet socks or feet, and there were times that I was standing on fairways so saturated, they squished with every step. The gentle slopes of the fairways were more like slip-n-slides, but I never felt unsteady. Lunar Duets might not have your standard spikes, but the more modern rubber lugs don’t give up traction on the course while easily converting for other activities if you have no time to change.

Nike Lunar Duet

Finally, I don’t know what Lunarlon technology is, I can only say that it cushions your foot with a gel-like spring that I can’t explain but can only appreciate. So, if you’re in the market for new golf shoes the Nike Lunar Duet could be for you! They come in men’s and women’s and your feet will thank you.

Nike Lunar Duet

Nike Lunar Duet run about $110. You can see the whole line of Nike women’s golf shoes on their website.

Sun Mountain Ladies WINDwear and Fleece Jacket

Sun Mountain Wind and Fleece

What in the world does “windproof” mean? I mean, if it is cold or windy enough that you need a jacket, wouldn’t you just grab your sweater or  jacket that keeps you warm? For whatever reason, I have never bought into the “windproof” idea – just seemed like a silly gimmick to me. I figured it was just one more reason a company could convince me to buy extra gear I don’t need and will probably never use.

Queen of the Green, the Newest British Invasion

Queen of the Green

Are you ready for the latest “British Invasion?” If you are a golfer with style, flare and have a taste for modern fashions in the golf world, start waving your Union Jack friends, because Queen of the Green is making its way to this side of the pond. It is a line of golf wear like no other I have seen. It is innovative and daring in a fashion world where same old same old is par for the course. (Pun fully intended here!)

Queen of the Green

I tried the Club House Short and Crown Polo. Here we go again, how can a polo be different? Well, this one has a shorter sleeve with puckers at the shoulder seam. The collar is rounded instead of the traditional pointed collar and has a silver tipping along the edge. All of these features make this polo a far more feminine golf shirt than average. The shorts are in a league of their own. Gone are your average khaki bermudas and in are these adorable shorts with button pockets, embellished with felt queen-embroidered badges. These really leave traditional golf shorts in the dark ages and bring to light a fun sense of style and individualism for you to take on the course.

Queen of the Green Polo, Skort and Shorts

Sue tried the Crown Skort and Tumbling Crown Polo. Again, the polo has shorter sleeves with a slight pucker and the seam for a feminine feel and look. This polo has the crown logo “tumbling” down the front and back of the shirt from the right shoulder to add another stylish distinction to set it apart from your average polo. The Crown Skirt has a plain front with inverted kick pleats on the back. It is simple and stylish and perfect to pair with a more daring top if you just can’t see yourself going full out rebel golfer all at once.

Queen of the Green Polo and Shorts

We are now big fans of Queen of the Green golf wear, but our favorite part just might be the accessories. We got Crown Visors in pink, white and black. Visors are not for everyone, but as an avid golfer and tennis player, I never leave home without mine. I like the simple velcro strap, not the wrap around strap that makes it difficult to readjust when you wear a ponytail. To my relief, these visors fit the bill, and my head, perfectly! Also, the front was just the right height. I absolutely hate a visor with a tall front, they’re just plain awkward looking. Here is my favorite jewel in the crown, so to speak, the crown logo is stitched front and center. I love it! I feel like I am Queen of the Greens every time I put on one of my visors! What girl wouldn’t like a crown on her head right?

Queen of the Green Visor

And finally, the Crown Belt. As a woman golfer, I have found it very difficult to find a golf belt for myself. Seriously, all belts either are one extreme or the other, way too masculine or trying so hard to be feminine that they look like your crazy aunt broke out her craft box and made you a belt for your Christmas present. Why is a belt so difficult? I can’t explain it, but Queen of the Green definitely got it right. The combo of a simple white leather strap and chrome effect buckle with white enamel fill and the crown logo dead center is absolutely perfect! Seriously, how hard was that? I have gone from never wearing a belt, to only pulling out items that I can wear this belt with.

Queen of the Green Crown Belt

If you are ready to break out of the same old dull golf fashions, Queen of the Green may be just what the doctor ordered. Keep in mind these are sized in European sizes and you’ll need to take a few extra moments to convert to US sizes. Also, if you usually golf at a club with strict rules on the length of shorts, some of the shorts are shorter than average golf shorts, so please keep this in mind. Queen of the Green is modern and fashion forward and designed for lovers of golf with an individual spirit.

Queen of the Green

You can see the whole line of Queen of the Green on their website. NOTE that Queen of the Green is the sister company of Bunker Mentality which was also reviewed by  Three Guys Golf.

Kartel for Women

Kartel for Women

One thing I that have realized while blogging for Three Guys Golf is that pictures only tell half of the story. On more than one occasion, I have found apparel to be far better in person than it is shown on a website. In the case of Kartel for women, I suspected I would like the gear, but frankly I was surprised at just how much I liked it once I actually had it in hand.

G-Mac by

The Three Guys have already chimed in about Kartel so we were pleased to also get a look at women’s side of the business. Sure we have reviewed many shirts that are lovely and made out of fantastic material, but the Kartel shirt is a rare mix of high quality fabric and great fit. What I mean is that so many times women’s shirts have sleeves that are too similar to men’s in style and length. On the other hand, the Kartel sleeves are short, without being too cropped for a comfort which allows you to focus on your swing and not adjusting your shirt.

Kartel for Women

As women, we all know that there are a few more issues in the fit department than men and finding a truly great shirt is not the easiest. Not to mention, it sure seems like the golf industry is dominated by men’s fashion. However, the Kartel shirt is really well tailored for the regular gal. Simple, elegant, well made, not too much to ask right?

Kartel for Women

I also tried the ladies outerwear fleece which is a great top for those chilly mornings and as we change seasons. The soft material is both lightweight and warm without being restricting – plus it’s super cute!.

Beyond the look and feel of Kartel, the prices are very reasonable and they have a pretty good selection or shirts, skorts, and outerwear.

You can see the whole line of Kartel for women on their website.

Fairway Fox Kristin Dress & Kate Skort

Fairway Fox Golf Wear was founded by Kate O’Connor and launched just this past January at the PGA Merchandise show. O’Connor is in the financial services industry in Manhattan and has played and had a passion for golf her whole life. She calls Fairway Fox her “jobby – a job that’s a hobby”. ALL, yes all, of Fairway Fox’s clothing are made in New York and are machine washable. She describes Fairway Fox’s first line as “Tory Burch-esque” and I couldn’t agree more. The look is sort of a preppy, yet sexy, look. How can that be?? Check out Fairway Fox’s website and I think you will agree.

Fairway Fox Kate Skort

I recently received the Kate skort in green and immediately noticed two unique details right off the bat. First, the skort has 2 gold buckles on each of the front pockets. The skort looked more like a skirt I would wear out than golf apparel. The buckles aren’t just for looks – they actually buckle the pockets shut and are very stylish. I have never seen anything like that on a golf skirt, and I absolutely love it. Next, the back zipper on the skort is exposed, which is one of the new trendy looks on the runway. I felt as if I were going out to lunch with the girls instead of heading to the golf course. What woman wouldn’t love that?? I for one know that if I don’t like what I am wearing, I will not play well. Its similar to what men like to refer to as “equipment malfunction” – not their fault if they hit a bad shot. (Get your mind out of the gutter – I’m referring to his golf clubs.)

Fairway Fox Kate Skort

Susan received the Kristin dress in pink, and it is nothing like you have seen on the course. This dress looks like something you would wear to dinner. It is a beautiful pink fabric with white trim around the neckline and hem. The fact that is doesn’t have a typical golf collar on it makes this dress truly unique. The Kristin dress also has the exposed gold zipper in the back and is stylish. It is hard to believe that this is a golf outfit – but the stretch in the fabric is there, and it really allows for movement. Susan found that the dress ran a bit small, so she suggests ordering one size bigger than you normally would.

Fairway Fox Kate Skort

But what really needs to be mentioned here is O’Connor’s attention to detail. Fairway Fox has something that I have NEVER seen in any line of women’s clothing, and it is brilliant. Inside of the front left pocket is a piece of ribbon that snaps shut. What is the big deal? It is a ring holder. Yes, you can take your rings off, put the piece of fabric through them, and snap it shut. The “ring snap” stays inside your pocket and keeps your baubles all safe and sound. Only a woman would think of that, and I am shocked that I have never seen this before. Genius.

Fairway Fox Kristen Dress

Let me reiterate that all of Fairway Fox’s Golf Wear are machine washable. You can take this right from the dryer and put it on without touching an iron. No more hassle or expense of dry cleaning. Also, Fairway Fox’s clothes are made with Coolmax wicking fabric to help you stay cool on the course. I absolutely love this line.

Fairway Fox Kristin Dress

Let me warn you though that Fairway Fox’s prices are on the high end for women’s golf clothes. But gals, you get what you pay for. The attention to detail and the fabric itself is fabulous. More importantly, all of Fairway Fox’s apparel are made in Manhattan, the fashion capital of the world. It is important to O’Connor to keep jobs local and support her city, and she has found that customers agree. It also helps that her clothes don’t necessarily have to be worn on the golf course, so they can be multi-functional.

Fairway Fox Kristin Dress

Be sure to check out the Fairway Fox website. You can find sophisticated and fun clothes that are really unique – from headbands and hats to polo shirts and dresses. This is a great company to support – and look great while you are doing it.

Iconic Sport

Iconic Sports

Iconic Sport Review: Google “sunscreen and skin cancer” and you will be amazed at what pops up. Does sunscreen actually increase skin cancer risk? Is your sunscreen killing you?? We can find everything from consumer reports on the best sunscreen to warnings that our sunscreen is poisoning us. What is a gal to do? Back in the day we would go out on the sorority rooftop and lay on an aluminum looking blanket and coat ourselves in baby oil and iodine. Ohhh to be back in the good old days of ignorance and denial. Little did we know that those lazy days of cooking on the roof would come back to haunt us in a BIG way. Now we try to cover up, zap, inject, fill, peel, buff, and laser away all that nasty sun damage. Being slightly older than my sorority days, I have tried and tried to get better at the sunscreen thing. And I honestly have made vast improvement. But like any busy mom, there are times when I have forgotten to reapply. Ok, maybe to apply at all.

Iconic Sport Mondrian Elbow Sleeve

Good news, gals – Iconic Sport is here for us! Iconic Sport Inc. was founded in 2005 by Leslie Chow, an avid golfer and multi-sport athlete. She is a former NASA program manager and researcher, a technology executive and entrepreneur, and has a bunch of degrees with a bunch of letters next to them from MIT and Standford. Whew! All I know is that she made it easier for me to get out on the course and not do any more damage to my skin.

Iconic Sport Mondrian Elbow Sleeve

Iconic Sport Inc. produces performance UV protective clothing for women, men, and juniors. Iconic’s sun protection is mechanical, not chemical, so it does not wash off, rub off or sweat off. Unlike sunscreen, we don’t have to reapply it or worry about the chemicals seeping into our body with unclear consequences. The sun protection level does not vary and the UPF 50+ means that less than 2% of the UV light gets through the fabric. Great concept – but really – the clothes have to be cute or we won’t wear them will we?

Iconic Sport Mondrian Elbow Sleeve & Bandon Skort

One look at the Iconic Sport website and you will forget that you are looking for sun protective clothing. Iconic’s line is fun, cute, and bright. I recently wore the Bandon Simple Skort in white and black along with the Mondrian Elbow Sleeve tee in white, hot pink, and orange. My first impression of this outfit was a bit Partridge Familyish, but in a good groovy way. The color block is perhaps this year’s hottest trend and Iconic Sport nailed it in a golf outfit with UV protection! The hot pink and orange blocks on this top are vibrant and look great with the Bandon skort. Both the skort and the top are breathable, wicking, anti-microbial/anti-odor, and have UPF 50+ sun protection. Both pieces were extremely comfortable and the fabric moved well for an unrestricted golf swing.

Iconic Sport Mondrian Elbow Sleeve & Bandon Skort

In addition to the Mondrian top, I also received the Crazy Cat Funnelneck top – Colorblock that I also wore with the Bandon skort. While this top is not as bright and colorful as the Mondrian, it also looks great with the Bandon skort. What I like about the Crazy Cat (besides the name, of course) is that the neckline has a zipper that can be adjusted for your desired level of sun protection. Zip it all the way up or give yourself a little breathing room – up to you. Worth noting, all of Iconic’s golf (and cycling) tops have a longer rear shirt length since your active position is leaning forward and you need extra coverage in the back. Nice.

Iconic Sport Mondrian Elbow Sleeve

Iconic Sports also has great accessories that you don’t want to miss. I tried out the del sol SunSleeves in black. They are SUPER lightweight and have UPF 50+ protection. I was surprised at how cool they felt in the 90 degree weather. I have seen some ladies wearing them before and honestly thought they must be burning up. Nope. They were great and actually looked cute! These sleeves come in unisex sizes from junior to 3XL and come in both solids and fun prints.

Iconic Sport is designed and manufactured in the San Francisco Bay Area. (Go USA!) Leslie Chow is also a big supporter of local community nonprofits – so please don’t confuse her with Leslie Chow from The Hangover.

Glenmuir

Glenmuir Performance Polos

Glenmuir Apparel Review: Founded in Scotland 1891, Glenmuir remains one of the most prestigious golf brands in the world. So recognized for style and quality, Glenmuir has been worn by the Ryder Cup, the Curtis Cup, and Solheim Cup teams. Most recently, Glenmuir celebrated their 29th year of sponsorship of the PGA Professional Championship. With that build up, Three Guys Golf was kinda jacked to see current batch of Glenmuir apparel.

Glenmuir Performance Polos

On the men’s side, we took a look at the Jackson and Ambrose. Both shirts feature ThermoCool™, CoolMax®, Hi-Cool® technology. Sure, most high end shirts have a similar feature but I can tell you this is the real deal. Suffice it to say that the Jackson has instantly become on of my favorite shirts. Since I am a sucker for contrasting piping, the coral with black accents has “you are so money” written all over it. Additionally, the zipper it a nice alternative to buttons without looking cheesy.

Glenmuir Jackson

Everything about this shirt is quality. Whether it is the stitching, the fit, color or details, the Glenmuir shirt is a winner. Moreover, you can wear it with nearly anything and look sharp. If it seems like I am swooning over this guy, you are correct. I have washed it about 5 times with zero issues and it never needs anything close to an iron to look great.

Glenmuir Jackson

While the Ambrose is more traditional in style, it is still a very sharp looking shirt. It has just enough details like the stripes and alternate texture to set it way apart from your run of the mill golf shirts. It is not until you wear a high end golf shirt that you realize how much better they look, fit and perform. Plus sizing is correct so if you usually wear a medium, guess what, order a medium (crazy I know).

Glenmuir Ambrose

Now seeing that I do not look very good in a skort, Sue and Susan took care of the ladies side of the Glenmuir review.

Glenmuir Ladies Polo: As reviewed by Sue

The Glenmuir Ladies range also offers a wide variety of clothing. They have one of the best websites for women around, offering a comprehensive range of golf and leisurewear. All of Glenmuir Ladies clothing is inspired by a rich history and heritage and will be fitting for any club or resort. They have combined both classic and contemporary designs and added some bold colors.

Both shirts feature Hi-Cool performance fabrics which keep you dry and comfortable. They are both extremely soft and stretchy, not to mention super cute. The fabric is 79% polyester and 21% cotton, making them easy to care for – just throw them in the wash.

Glenmuir Ladies Polo

The shirt I wore is the Ladies’ Glenmuir Allegra Hi-Cool Jersey Shirt in lagoon/white.  (“Lagoon” is a very pretty shade of light blue.) It has contrasting white piping and buttons and has the Glenmuir icon at the right hem. The shape of the shirt is very form flattering, and I also really like the long neckline. The collar on this shirt is not too big and and the length of the shirt was just right. I wore this shirt with a pair of white bermuda shorts and it was very sharp, if I may say so myself!

Susan wore the Ladies’ Glenmuir Holly Hi-Cool Jersey Shirt in iris/winter white. The color of this shirt is a soft purple and is really lovely. This shirt is also soft and has a stretch fit, but it has something more. The cut of this shirt is a bit different in that the front and back are just slightly longer than the sides. This gives the shirt a longer look and looks quite nice untucked. The contrast color side panels give this shirt a nice fitted look, while still being stretchy enough to move with your swing.

Glenmuir has a rich history and heritage and I can see why they have designed and supplied shirts and knitwear for twelve European Ryder Cup Teams. The quality of the clothing is outstanding, and I for one am thrilled about the wide selection of women’s golf attire. The Glenmuir Ladies line is fresh and bright and can be worn on and off the golf course. Be sure to check it out at www.glenmuir.com.

Page and Tuttle

Page and Tuttle

If you own more than a couple of golf shirts, you surely have at least one with patented technology that was developed specifically for the game by a company called Page and Tuttle. As one of the oldest apparel companies in America, Page and Tuttle has been a leader in apparel innovation for over 100 years.

Page and Tuttle Cool Elite Free Swing Action Gusset Stripe Jersey

For example, you probably own a shirt that has what almost seems a patch under the arm. While you likely have never given much thought to this patch, it was introduced in the 1950’s by Munsingwear (now Page and Tuttle) and is the reason your shirt allows for more natural movement. This patch, known as a gusset, is just one example of Page and Tuttle ‘s impact on the golf apparel industry. So while the patent on it has long expired, the gusset is now used by manufacturers world wide.

Page and Tuttle Cool Swing Ombre Auto Stripe Jersey

Page and Tuttle also introduced a fabric called “Cool Elite.” It has embedded cooling minerals in its fibers so when you heat up, the fabric can actually cool you down 2-4 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s right, it actually cools you down as you play. Not a bad idea if I do say so myself.

Page and Tuttle Cool Swing Ombre Auto Stripe Jersey

While the “Three Guys” received the above sharp looking polos, I received a “Cool Swing” white polo and light blue skort. The polo was cut with a feminine style. The collar had no buttons but there was a reinforced lip where the buttons usually go. It made for a new twist on a classic style that is very appealing, especially if you feel like all your shirts seem to blend into each other. You would think that this collar might not hold up after washing and flop since there are no buttons to stabilize it, but I am happy to report, wash and wear is no problem.

Page and Tuttle

I have no intention on wearing golf clothing that I have to iron after washing so this shirt passes the test. The skort is a blend of polyester, rayon and spandex. There is nothing worse than shorts or skorts that don’t stretch with you when you move about the course and are reading your putts. This skort is on the higher end of comfort and flexibility. It had maximum comfort all the while moving and stretching with me in every situation.

Page and Tuttle Cool Swing white polo

On the men’s side, both polos are made from 100% micro polyester Cool Swing material which is code for “very light, breathable and soft”. Both of these shirts got thumbs up from the guys. Perfect for the humid temperatures of North Carolina and nearly impossible to not match with a pair of shorts (a feature not to be underestimated). In terms of sizing, the Page and Tuttle polos run very fair and with a tradition fit.

Page and Tuttle offers a wide variety of products for both men and women across all season. You can find golfing attire with the latest that the industry has to offer at www.pageandtuttlegolf.com. Page and Tuttle offers everything from classic polos to outwear and windwear featuring their Free Swing technology (yet another innovation developed by the company) to give you every comfort and advantage in your game.

Oxford Golf For Women

Oxford Womens Castlebar Polo

Oxford Golf is one of the best known names in men’s golf attire. They carry classic golf pieces that are constructed for comfort and performance and can be seen on tour being worn by the likes of David Toms. Well guess what ladies – Oxford Golf has finally rolled out a women’s line for this fall. Now when our husbands and/or boyfriends (hopefully not both) are buying themselves Oxford Golf clothes, there is NO REASON why they can’t and shouldn’t pick up a little something for us.

Oxford Womens Castlebar Polo

After reading Three Guys Golf review of Oxford Golf for men, I was pretty sure, I was going to like the women’s line, but since this is Oxfords first foray into fashion for the fairer sex, we would just have to see.

Oxford Womens Castlebar Polo

The Castlebar Polo is an eco-friendly shirt that is made of recycled polyester and cotton. It is very lightweight, soft, and has a feminine cut. The fabric wicks moisture away and has a anti-microbial finish which repels odor as well. Personally, I loved the neckline and the fact that it only has two buttons – it is a classic but colorful shirt. I will wear this on and off the course.

Oxford Womens Castlebar Polo

Next I tried the Oxford Golf Kerri Short Sleeve Hoodie in black. What I absolutely love about this top is that it is short sleeved and super soft. For me, I don’t like to feel like my clothes are getting in the way of my swing. This will be my go-to top for the fall mornings. It has just enough warmth to take away the morning chill, but without making you feel like you are swinging through too many layers.

Oxford Womens Kerri Short Sleeve Hoodie

The Oxford hoodie is made out of 100% polyester micro fleece and has an adjustable drawstring hood. Also, because it has a zippered front, I don’t have to take my hat off when I put this cute hoodie on and off. Be sure to check out all the different colors the Kerri Hoodie by Oxford Golf comes in because I am sure we all need several.

Oxford Womens Kerri Short Sleeve Hoodie

Oxford Golf has been around for a long time and is sold in the finest pro shops and resorts across the country. Men have always been able to expect the best in quality, value, and design with Oxford Golf. Now women can expect the same, but in brighter colors and cuter cuts. My only complaint about Oxford Golf is that it took too long for them to include the girls!
